About Two Trees

‘One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light,
but by making the darkness conscious.’
- Carl Jung

For a tree to grow strong it grows in two directions equally: upward and toward the light; downward and deep into the dark. Similarly, to become whole, we must first learn to see in the dark. Much of our life takes place in the unseen realms, realms which are often pushed deep in the unconscious mind and held in the body and mind as tension, pain, fears and imbalance. The process of healing is one of re-connection, of bringing light to dark places, and of transforming that which is exiled or hidden through the gentle light of loving awareness. Through this process, we can take root in the whole of who we truly are, and from this grow into our full potential.

Two Trees Ritual Healing is a weaving together of over 25 years of creative, spiritual, and healing practice. The journey has been both personal and professional - learning through my own healing, and healing through learning. It is my hope to offer what I have learned through my own experience to others.

NB - To my fellow Tolkien nerds. Yes, you would be correct in recognising the Two Trees as being inspried by Laurelin and Telperon, the original arboreal sources of lunar and solar light in Middle Earth (well, Arda … and after the two lamps, of course).
